For our French investor we realized the architects’ idea and developed special folding doors that won the SNCF French Railways competition.
The doors, which fold horizontally, function as shading and as aesthetic accessory during the day and provide excellent protection of Paris railway stations during the night.

Helping ambitious architertural plans become reality – Sunbreakers Q by soltec

We’re proud to have contributed an original solution to the construction of a new kindergarten.

Facade sun breakers provide sun protection, save energy and create a lively colorful appearance. Based on the input of architects, we developed special vertical sun breakers for the new kindergarten in Šoštanj, which opened its doors in September 2014. Integrated motor drives enable these breakers to rotate 360 degrees. Their attractive look adds a beautiful touch to the architectural design of the project.

In combination with color accents coming from the inside of the building, the white sun breakers modify the appearance of the facade in a variety of playful patterns, showcasing the power of an original idea when it comes to providing living-space comfort.

The largest sunbreaker facade in Slovenia!

At the new Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and Faculty of Computer and Information Science building in Ljubljana, we have completed the installation of the largest aluminium sunbreaker facade in Slovenia.

The facade is 6000 m2 in size and includes 70 tons of steeland 80 tons of aluminium. With automatic controls, the facade provides the building an efficient protection from overheating, while the premises enjoy goodnatural lighting with high transparency.

Numerous scientific researchers have shown that due to the lack of natural light we are affected by many problems, such as exhaustion, fatigue, sleep disorder, increased appetite, which cause weight gain, general passivity and depression as well as impaired productivity at work and loss of vitality.

Chameleon kindergarten won the WAN Award Education sector

The architectural design of the Chameleon kindergarten, whose author is the company MODULAR architects design LLc., is fully flexible. Designed in a modular fashion, it can be applied to any given location, because the basic unit is combined into various urbanistic patterns, which make use of natural features and local identity of the space to the greatest extent possible.
The kindergarten is energy-efficient and equipped with highly effective and technologically advanced devices, created with the aim of producing minimum operating costs in relation to rational input.
