2025 is shaping up to be the year of intentionally designed outdoor spaces – where functionality and aesthetics are no longer separate concepts.
Together with our clients, we’ve developed pergolas, canopies and shading systems that do more than offer protection – they actively define the space’s character, rhythm and ambiance.
This year’s defining design directions:
1. Minimalism with architectural expression
Clean lines, concealed fixings, column-free spans and uninterrupted surfaces take centre stage. Clients seek “invisible solutions” – calm, cohesive and architecturally aligned.
2. Complete outdoor experiences, not just shading
More and more projects combine multiple uses: the pergola becomes a dining area, wellness nook, living space or lounge. Shading is integrated with lighting, ZIP screens, outdoor kitchens or panels – creating holistic outdoor living areas.
3. Architecture-led customisation
Colours, mounting systems and technical details are aligned with materials, architectural elements and the logic of the building. Integration is no longer a bonus – it’s the foundation.
4. Year-round usability
There’s growing demand for solutions that offer comfort beyond the summer months. Wind-blocking ZIP screens, integrated lighting and closable pergolas enable all-season enjoyment.
5. Privacy and protection from view
In urban settings, privacy is a top priority. ZIP screens and sliding panels don’t just offer shade – they create intimacy and a sense of retreat, without enclosing the space.
