Sunbreaker E

The blades of the sunbreaker E are made of extruded aluminium, which is even more resistant to hail and are particularly suitable for jutting roofs. Two different dimensions of sunbreaker E are available.

DESCRIPTION OF SOLTEC BRISE-SOLEIL TYPE E300 – vertical

The brise-soleil system consists of vertical shading louvres with an elliptical profile measuring 300 × 50 mm. They are centrally mounted to allow rotation and are slidingly fixed into horizontal steel tubes equipped with integrated sliding bushings. The vertical louvres are interconnected via an aluminium drive bar that converts linear motion into rotational movement of the louvres.

A 24 V DC linear motor provides the linear movement required for maximum louvre rotation from 0 to 130 degrees, or less if needed. The motor features IP66 protection and is additionally enclosed in a protective housing.

E300 louvres have dedicated aluminium covers with stainless-steel pins that enable sliding fixation within the guides, allowing compensation for temperature-driven expansion.

The horizontal steel tubes are statically defined and mounted onto the concrete façade using brackets. The insulation thickness is 15 cm, and the brise-soleil system is minimally offset from the façade line. All aluminium and steel components are coated in RAL 7016; all steel elements are first primed and then finished with a minimum coating thickness of 120 microns.

Each field is equipped with its own motor, connected to a separate switch provided by the client.
The client also provides the electrical cable to each field and a structurally suitable concrete substructure. Manufacturing and installation are carried out in accordance with the approved layout documentation and the agreed project schedule.

 TYPE E300 – motorised

SOLTEC aluminium sunbreakers E300, dimensions 50 × 300 mm, elliptical shape, fixed–sliding mounted in steel guide rails at an angle of 45°.
The guide rails are made of steel, hot-dip galvanised, and fixed to the concrete wall at an angle of 90° using steel brackets. The client is responsible for the structural load-bearing capacity and suitability of the supporting structure.

In accordance with the architectural drawings, an additional longitudinal steel beam is installed on the front side, in front of the first louvre, to reduce wind load. The system is dimensioned for the Dalmatia region to withstand wind gusts of up to 150 km/h.

The purpose of the aluminium louvres is to prevent direct sunlight from entering interior spaces at an incidence angle greater than 45°, thereby providing effective protection against overheating and ensuring shading of the space.

The field dimensions are specified in the table and can be subdivided as required, as shown in the technical documentation.

The dimensions and cross-sections of the steel profiles will be determined in accordance with the structural calculation, which will form an integral part of the project documentation in the event of an order.

All aluminium components are powder-coated in the desired RAL colour, as selected by the architect.

The steel brackets, which are hot-dip galvanised, are additionally coated with a water-based paint at the client’s request, with a minimum coating thickness of 120 μm.

The product is manufactured in accordance with standard EN 13659 (external blinds and shutters – performance and safety requirements, including wind resistance).

Soltec sunbreaker E type E210

Type E210 represents ellipsoid blades with dimensions 210 x 30 mm with wings that have a better overlapping function.

Soltec sunbreaker E type E310

Type E310 also represents the elliptical blades with dimensions 310 x 35 mm, which are suitable for larger surfaces of up to 4.5 m when set horizontally.

Treatment of materials

Treatment of aluminium and steel materials:

  • the surface of aluminum is treated with RAL scale powder coating
  • colour type can be either sheen, matt or fine grain – microstructure
  • surface protection can also be ensured by anodising
  • the surface of the steel is hot-dip galvanized and, if necessary, powder coated
