Case Study: a versatile outdoor space for social living
In this project, we combined several elements to create a truly unique outdoor environment. Beneath the bioclimatic pergola, a relaxing lounge corner takes shape, alongside a social area sheltered by a fixed canopy. This space is enclosed by fixed timber-clad walls and sliding glass panels that allow natural light in while maintaining an open connection to the rest of the terrace. The rear wall of the fixed canopy is made from insulated panels, allowing us to include a compact restroom with a door.
Both canopies feature integrated LED lighting, while the glass walls are equipped with ZIP roller blinds that provide privacy and control over light and heat. A particular challenge was the trapezoid-shaped fixed canopy, where we had to resolve irregular angles and ensure a seamless connection between all components. At the same time, we implemented an efficient rainwater drainage system – both the pergola and the canopy have their own.
