Soltec Dynamic Facade: Aesthetic and Energy Efficiency for the Brežice Health Center

Soltec Dynamic Facade: Aesthetic and Energy Efficiency for the Brežice Health Center

The Brežice Health Center has been upgraded with Soltec’s dynamic facade, enhancing living and working conditions while standing out as a modern architectural symbol in the local environment. Soltec’s E series movable sunbreakers allow precise light control, creating an energy-efficient and comfortable indoor atmosphere with a sleek, modern look for the building.

Challenge: Functionality Meets Modern Design

Soltec was tasked with creating a facade that combined aesthetic innovation with functional solutions. From the outset, sunbreakers were intended to provide shading while ensuring privacy. Beyond their practical role, these sunbreakers were chosen for their aesthetic appeal; the architect selected a golden yellow hue to stand out like a necklace against the building’s white facade, capturing attention and giving the structure a distinct character. These sunbreakers not only serve practical needs but also enhance the building’s architectural value with a unique visual impression.

Soltec E Sunbreakers: Technical Adaptability and Exceptional Durability

For this project, we chose Soltec E sunbreakers, featuring:

Material and Durability

The sunbreakers are crafted from extruded aluminum, ensuring resistance to weather and corrosion for long-term outdoor use.

Dimensions

Soltec offers sunbreakers in various sizes for large facade surfaces, harmonizing with architectural requirements. For this project, we selected the E300x50, inspired by an aircraft wing shape.

Flexible Installation

The E sunbreakers can be installed on horizontal or vertical surfaces, providing design flexibility.

Motorization Options

The sunbreakers are motorized for angle adjustment, adapting to the sun’s position in real-time. This feature optimizes light control and minimizes the need for artificial cooling.

Powder-Coated Surfaces

Available in colors from the RAL palette, with gloss, matte, and microstructure finishes, aligning with the building’s aesthetic.

Additional Protection

Steel components are anodized or zinc-coated for long-term corrosion resistance.

Dynamic Elements

For this project, we installed adjustable sunbreakers (rotating up to 140 degrees) in front of the glass surfaces, creating a dynamic facade with a constantly shifting appearance.

Comprehensive Project Execution

This project involved a complete dynamic facade solution, including:

Concept Development

We collaborated with the designers to refine the concept and produce preliminary designs.

Static Calculations

Advanced calculations were conducted to ensure the facade withstands local weather and dynamic loads.

Documentation and Implementation Plans

All necessary documentation was prepared, coordinating implementation with architects and designers.

Digital Modeling and Measurements

We used digital measurements and 3D modeling for accurate customization of facade elements.

Sunbreaker Production

Manufactured in our facility in Dobova, ensuring high quality and precise project specifications.

Installation and After-Sales Support

Our skilled installers ensured a durable, functional installation, and we offer ongoing support as a local manufacturer.

“The Brežice Health Center boasts 390 m² of Soltec dynamic facade. Construction lasted from October 2022 to June 2024, followed by interior setup, and the use permit was granted by the municipality on August 14, 2024.”

What Does Soltec’s Dynamic Facade Bring to the Brežice Health Center?

Soltec’s facade with E sunbreakers provides several advantages:

Customized Light Control: Motorized sunbreakers allow optimal natural light without glare, creating a pleasant work and living environment. Adjustments are tailored based on window positioning, with morning sunlight blocked in the east and afternoon light in the west.

Reduced Energy Consumption: Adjustable sunbreakers reduce the need for artificial cooling, lowering costs and enhancing energy efficiency.

Privacy and Protection: Sunbreakers offer privacy where needed and prevent overheating, improving comfort for patients and working conditions for staff.

Aesthetic Sophistication: Golden yellow sunbreakers, combined with the white facade, create a modern appearance that enhances the building’s architectural appeal.

The dynamic facade for the Brežice Health Center exemplifies how thoughtful design can exceed functional needs, creating a visual highlight that enriches the building and its surroundings. Soltec’s sunbreaker-based facade elevates urban quality in Brežice, setting new standards for similar projects.
